Support environmental DNA (eDNA) testing and process development, from receiving environmental samples to producing traceable, quality-controlled molecular data. This role emphasizes contamination prevention, careful documentation, and reliable results.
Responsibilities
- Receive, label, track, and prepare environmental samples while maintaining chain-of-custody records.
- Perform DNA extraction, molecular testing, and sample-quality checks under approved laboratory procedures.
- Support PCR/qPCR workflows and sequencing preparation as assigned, with appropriate controls and contamination safeguards.
- Maintain instruments, reagents, inventories, and complete electronic laboratory records.
- Help assess process performance, investigate unexpected results, and improve reproducibility with the research team.
Education & experience
Bachelor's degree required in biology, molecular biology, microbiology, genetics, biotechnology, or a related life science. Environmental science degrees are appropriate with substantial molecular biology laboratory coursework.
Required: Hands-on laboratory experience through coursework, an internship, or employment; accurate pipetting, careful sample handling, and clear recordkeeping.
Preferred: One or more years of molecular laboratory experience, especially eDNA, nucleic-acid extraction, qPCR, sequencing preparation, or laboratory information systems.

Support the development of CAR-T cells from T cells for research. Work with the scientific team on cell-culture workflows, research-scale cell engineering, and analytical testing under approved procedures and supervision.
Responsibilities
- Maintain T-cell and other relevant mammalian cell cultures using aseptic technique and documented procedures.
- Support research-scale CAR-T cell development and associated cell-processing activities under scientific supervision.
- Assist with cell counting, viability assessment, flow cytometry, and molecular or functional characterization as assigned.
- Maintain traceable sample, reagent, equipment, and experimental records; promptly report deviations or contamination concerns.
- Coordinate with the senior laboratory technician and research leadership to keep studies organized and reproducible.
Education & experience
Bachelor's degree required in cell biology, immunology, molecular biology, biochemistry, biotechnology, genetics, or a closely related life science.
Required: Hands-on mammalian cell-culture experience, sound aseptic technique, and experience recording and reviewing experimental results. Relevant academic research experience is acceptable.
Preferred: One to three years of relevant experience; primary human T-cell culture, CAR-T research, flow cytometry, cell-based assays, or experience in a quality-controlled biotechnology laboratory.

Provide senior technical support for the synthesis, expression, purification, and characterization of HLA, MIC, and FOX-family proteins for organ transplantation research. Bring strong protein biochemistry and molecular biology skills to research questions in transplant immunology.
Responsibilities
- Plan and perform research-scale protein production and characterization under the scientific director's approved study plans.
- Support work involving HLA proteins, MIC-family proteins such as MICA/MICB, and project-selected FOX-family targets.
- Develop and troubleshoot protein-quality and identity assessments, analytical assays, and reproducible documentation.
- Review experimental results, identify technical problems, and communicate findings and recommendations to research leadership.
- Mentor laboratory technicians, maintain standard operating procedures, and coordinate equipment, reagent, and quality-control needs.
Education & experience
Master's degree required in biochemistry, molecular biology, immunology, biotechnology, genetics, or a closely related field. A relevant doctorate is welcome but is not required.
Required: At least three years of relevant hands-on laboratory research experience, which may include substantial graduate research, with demonstrated protein expression, purification, characterization, and assay troubleshooting skills.

Laboratory housekeeping · Two separate schedules
Housekeeping · 1 openingHousekeeping Associate · Weekdays$20–$23/hourWeekday shift
Help maintain a clean, orderly, and professional research facility. This position focuses on assigned offices, restrooms, common spaces, floors, and laboratory-support areas cleared for housekeeping.
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 a.m.–4:00 p.m. Full-time; on-site. Meal breaks are scheduled within the shift; paid hours and break arrangements will be specified in the written offer.
Responsibilities
- Clean and disinfect assigned surfaces, restrooms, floors, and common areas using approved products and checklists.
- Restock housekeeping supplies and remove ordinary, nonhazardous trash and recycling.
- Follow posted laboratory access restrictions and cleaning procedures that protect research activities.
- Report spills, unsafe conditions, damaged equipment, and supply needs to the designated supervisor.
- Do not handle research specimens, sharps, or biological spills. Notify trained laboratory staff; hazardous-waste handling is not part of routine housekeeping.
Education & experience
No college degree required. A high school diploma or GED is preferred, not required. Relevant cleaning experience and the ability to complete safety training may substitute.
Required: Ability to understand cleaning instructions and product safety information, follow checklists, maintain confidentiality, and perform the essential duties with or without reasonable accommodation.
Preferred: Six months or more of commercial, healthcare, or laboratory-facility cleaning experience. Training in site-specific procedures will be provided.

Responsibilities
- Complete scheduled weekend cleaning of offices, restrooms, floors, common spaces, and approved laboratory-support areas.
- Restock supplies, remove ordinary nonhazardous waste, and document completed cleaning tasks.
- Follow site security and access procedures and communicate with the designated supervisor about urgent concerns.
- Use only approved cleaning products and keep equipment and supply areas orderly.
- Do not handle research specimens, sharps, or biological spills. Notify trained laboratory staff; hazardous-waste handling is not part of routine housekeeping.
Education & experience

Pay, scheduling, and equal opportunity
*Annual equivalents for laboratory roles assume 40 paid hours per week for 52 weeks (2,080 hours); they are not a guaranteed annual salary. These are hourly pay ranges. Overtime will be paid when required by applicable law. The housekeeping shift windows include scheduled meal breaks and should not be interpreted as a promise of 40 or 20 paid hours per week.
Pay ranges were set above the following broad occupational reference medians: biological technicians, U.S., May 2025, $27.65/hour; biochemists and biophysicists, Tennessee, May 2024, $44.46/hour; and janitors and cleaners, Tennessee, May 2025, $16.08/hour. These are reference occupations, not exact salary surveys for these specialized openings. The senior-role reference is older state-level data. Pay ranges reviewed September 17, 2026.
